Warrenton, VA : Woodbridge woman killed in Dale City motorcycle crash on Saturday, February 18th 2017

A Woodbridge woman was killed in a collision between two motorcycles on Mapledale Avenue in Dale City early Saturday.

Nellie Rae Sacra, 53, was riding with another motorcyclist about 1:38 a.m., when the two bikes approached the intersection of Meadowbrook Road, said Prince William police spokesman Steven Mattos Jr.

The driver of the first bike “applied a hard brake” in an attempt to to turn onto Meadowbrook, but Sacra was unable to stop and crashed. Sacra suffered head trauma and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died, Mattos said.

The other cyclist, identified as Robert James Potts, 53, of Moccasin Court in Dale City, suffered minor injuries. He was charged with driving the under the influence following the investigation, Mattos said.

Speed and alcohol were factors.
