Ocala, FL : Two drivers critically injured in crash on North U.S. 441 Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016

Two drivers remain hospitalized following a crash on North U.S. 441 Wednesday evening.

Vishnubhai Patel, 40, and Luella West, 60, were both in critical condition at Ocala Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said Thursday.

The wreck occurred at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. 441 and Northwest 90th Street, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Patel, of Washington state, was driving a 2005 Honda Odyssey south on U.S. 441.

West, an Ocala resident, was coming from the other direction in a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria and turned left in front of the minivan, according to FHP. The Odyssey hit passenger-side door of the car.

Patel was wearing his seat belt, according to FHP. West was not.

The investigation is ongoing.
