BOWLING GREEN, MO : Pike County crash injures two from Michigan on February, Wednesday 14th 2018

Two Michigan residents were injured in a Wednesday night crash in Pike County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2003 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Melissa A. Coulson, 52, of Paw Paw, Mich., was traveling west on U.S. 54, east of Old U.S. 54, at 10:32 p.m. The patrol said the driver and a passenger, Mark E. Coulson, 61, also of Paw Paw, suffered a medical condition because of a vehicle defect, and the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck an embankment.

Melissa Coulson was taken by Air Evac Life Team to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., with serious injuries. Mark Coulson was taken by Pike County EMS to Pike County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The patrol said both Coulsons were wearing seat belts.
