A 67-year-old Illinois man was killed and three people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Columbia County Tuesday afternoon.
The driver of a 2011 Ford Ranger, John Bramm, of Morrison, Illinois, was killed and his passenger, Patricia Bramm, also 67, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with serious injury, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.
Also injured were Jullian Dorsey, 22, who was driving a 2004 Honda Accord, and his passenger, Gabriell Demme, 23. Both are from Washington, D.C. They also were transported to Shands.
The crash occurred 4:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Mile Marker 438 when the driver of the Accord went off the road and overcorrected. The car, which had been in the inside lane, hit the left rear side of the truck, according to the FHP.
The vehicles then spun out of control. The car overturned, crashed over a fence and landed on its roof. The truck slid off the east shoulder and hit a tree. It wrapped around the tree and broke apart.
