WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN : Teen driver with no license charged in fatal wreck on Saturday, March 11th 2017
A Texas woman was killed in a highway collision Saturday morning in Washington County, and the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle has been charged with driving with no license.
Elivia Monroe, 52, of Victoria, Texas, was fatally injured when the vehicle she was riding in entered the path of a truck towing a boat trailer while pulling off Interstate 10 onto State 77.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported a Pontiac G6 being driven by Manuel Camancho, 17, also of Victoria, exited the interstate and turned north on State 77, pulling into the path of the a Chevrolet truck being driven southbound by Christopher Slay, 42, of Chipley.
Both vehicles rotated, with the truck and trailer jack-knifing, before coming to rest upright along State 77. Also in the Pontiac was Celeste Perez, 19, of Victoria, who sustained minor injuries. Neither driver was injured.
Camancho has been charged with driving without a license, resulting in serious injury or death, and failure to yield right of way.
