OKLAHOMA CITY, OK : 2 killed in separate crashes on Oklahoma City roads on Saturday, January 28th 2017

Authorities say two people were killed in separate crashes in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Ryan Samson of Oklahoma City died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 35 and Oklahoma City police say a woman whose name was not immediately released died in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 74.

Both accidents occurred Saturday.

The OHP says Samson was southbound on I-35 when changed lanes and struck another vehicle, then was then thrown from the motorcycle as it went off the interstate.

Police say the woman died when the vehicle she was driving went off the highway also known as Lake Hefner Parkway, struck an embankment, then returned to the highway and caught fire. Police say witnesses pulled her from the burning vehicle, but she was dead at the scene.
