Thibodaux, LA : Passenger killed in Lafourche Parish crash on Tuesday, August 19, 2014

State police say a 29-year-old Kenner man died when the vehicle he was riding in traveled off the road and struck a tree in Lafourche Parish. Trooper Evan Harrell says Cesar Castillo-Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office. The accident happened Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. Harrell says a car driven by 53-year-old Manuel Dejesus Velasquez Mejia failed to negotiate a left curve on Louisiana Highway 308 south of Thibodaux. Harrell says Mejia was booked for vehicular homicide, improper lane usage and no driver's license. It was unclear whether he has an attorney. Source : Passenger killed in Lafourche Parish crash
