Providence , RI : 29-year-old dies after crashing into utility pole on Friday, 4th November 2016

Police say a 29-year-old man from Pawtucket has died from his injuries after crashing his car into a utility pole.

Seekonk Police Chief Craig Mace said an officer signaled the driver to stop on Fall River Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday. The driver continued driving. He side-swiped another vehicle, and drove towards Arcade Avenue where he crashed into a pole near Pleasant Street.

The man was extricated from the car by the Seekonk Fire and Rescue and taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver’s name will not be released until family has been notified.

The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Team and State Police Investigators from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
