Irving Park, IL : 2 police officers injured in NW Side hit-and-run crash in the 3200 block of West Irving Park Road on Saturday, 5th January 2019

Two Chicago police officers were injured early Saturday when a driver crashed a stolen car into their police SUV in the Irving Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The on-duty officers were driving about 2:30 a.m. C when their SUV was struck by a black Honda Accord that was traveling south on Spaulding Avenue, Chicago police said.

The officers were treated at a hospital, police said. One possibly had broken ribs and the other was suffering from neck pain.

The Honda’s male driver ran from the crash, police said. His 25-year-old female passenger was treated at a hospital for facial injuries.

The Accord had been reported stolen earlier Saturday from west suburban Schiller Park, police said.
