GOSHEN, IN : A Bristol man suffered severe head trauma in a four-vehicle crash on Thursday, November, 2nd 2017
A Bristol man suffered severe head trauma in a four-vehicle crash along Ind. 15 Thursday morning.
Injured in the crash was Harry F. Roy, 33, Bristol. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital by paramedics for severe head trauma.
According to Elkhart County police, Roy was driving a 2018 Honda Odyssey north on Ind. 15, north of C.R. 14. Three other vehicles were headed south on Ind. 15 – a 2005 GMC 2500 truck, hauling a 2018 Coachmen Apex; a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 truck; and a 1996 Toyota Corolla.
The Odyssey crossed the center line, police reported, and struck the left rear of the GMC 2500 driven by Todd M. Campbell, 53, Frankfort, Kentucky. The Odyssey then collided with the travel trailer being pulled by the GMC. This caused debris from the trailer to scatter across the road. The debris struck the left rear of the Dodge Ram driven by Michael G. Fireline, 38, Granger. Fireline avoided a collision with another vehicle, police said.
The Odyssey then began to rotate after impact and continued north in the southbound lane.
The Toyota Corolla’s driver, Jonathan Yoder, 65, Bristol, attempted to stop by braking. As he was coming to a stop, police said, the front end of the Odyssey struck the right front of the Corolla.
Roy was the only person injured in the crash, according to police.
