GRAND JUNCTION, CO : Two people have been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday, September 26th 2017

Two people have been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash in Clifton that killed a 22-year-old woman.

The Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/2fx6N6b ) that Mariah Loya was pronounced dead on after being hit by a vehicle in a parking lot on Sept. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office ruled her death a homicide.

The two suspects have not yet been charged, but a Mesa County prosecutor said in court last week that one of the two told investigators he was behind the wheel of the SUV that struck Loya.

Assistant District Attorney Rich Tuttle said that suspect could face a charge of reckless vehicular homicide, or at least a charge of leaving the scene of a vehicle crash.
