Seminole County , FL : Stolen Honda Civic crashed into Seminole County house at Jerome Way after spotted driving recklessly in the area on Tuesday morning , February 17th 2015
A stolen car crashed into a Seminole County house Tuesday morning, according to sheriff's investigators.
Deputies said the Honda Civic hit the house on Jerome Way after being spotted driving recklessly in the area.
"All the airbags went 'poom' at the same time. That's what we heard and we came outside," said neighbor Madelane Saldana.
Deputies said no one was in the house at the time of the crash and that the car hit the garage area, causing significant damage.
According to deputies, the three occupants of the car fled after the crash but were caught a short time later.
Deputies said the car was reported stolen from Altamonte Springs.
Carisa Helton told Channel 9's Jeff Deal that she believes it was her 14-year-old brother driving the car when it crashed.
"Well, my brother's friend gave him the keys to that car and he left this morning. And I saw (the story) on the news," Helton said.
"Does he normally drive?" Deal asked Helton.
"No, and it was a stick shift," Helton said.
Deputies would not confirm that Helton's brother was driving the car.
Neighbors said the owner of the home that was hit died last year and no one has been living in the house.
