Indianapolis, IN : Two airlifted to Indy hospital after crash near Indiana Beach on February, Thursday 1st 2018
Two people were taken by ambulance to UI Health White County Memorial Hospital then airlifted to other hospitals on Thursday after an automobile crash just south of Indiana Beach, according to the White County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver, Jaima K. Kring, 37, of Lafayette, was flown by IU Lifeline Helicopter to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, the press release states.
Her passenger, Michael S. McNamara, 38, of Rensselaer, was flown by Lutheran Air Helicopter to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, according to the press release.
The crash happened about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Shafer Drive and County Road 225 North.
The press release states that Kring was driving a silver 1999 Volvo sedan south on West Shafer when the car left the road on the east side for an unknown reason
It apparently crossed the east lane and went over the curb, and the road had white streaks that went from the car’s proper lane towards where the car crashed.
The Volvo struck a utility pole on the passenger’s side, breaking the pole, the press release states.
White County Sheriff’s Police closed West Shafer for about an hour and 30 minutes while police worked at and investigated the crash.
