HARTFORD, CT : Driver arrested for 79th time after crashing stolen Jeep on Sunday, 15th September 2024

Windsor Locks police said they’ve arrested a man for the 79th time after he crashed a stolen car Sunday.

Police said they were called to the Main and Spring streets area just before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Several people reported seeing a Jeep being driven recklessly before crashing into another vehicle. The suspect then continued to drive the Jeep without its front left wheel which he lost during the initial crash, before becoming disabled at which time the Jeep caught fire.

When officers arrived several witnesses pointed out 61-year-old Jerome Wallace of Hartford, as the driver. Wallace was observed nearby watching the Jeep burn, according to police.
