Three people suffered minor injuries in a five-car crash on Bay Road near Walker Lane Tuesday afternoon, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Thomas Becker, 19, of Argyle, was driving his 2006 Honda SUV south on Bay Road when he attempted to stop, but his foot foot slid from the brake pedal onto the accelerator, making his vehicle lunge forward, striking a 2005 Toyota van operated by 70-year-old Gansevoort resident, Jacqueline Gallagher, according to police reports.
Gallagher’s van was pushed into a 2012 Honda sedan driven by Rachael Patten, 55, of Hudson Falls. Patten’s car was pushed into a 2011 Jeep SUV driven by Edith Hill, 56, of South Glens Falls. Hill’s vehicle was pushed into a 2007 Suzuki van operated by Nichole Howe, 46, of Pottersville.
Patten, Howe and a passenger in Howe’s vehicle, Lillian Lang, 67, of Paradox, were transported to Glens Falls Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident, which was reported at 3:21 p.m., was investigated by Patrol Officer William St. John.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Queensbury Central Vol. Fire Company, the Bay Ridge Rescue Squad, Glens Falls EMS, and Moreau Rescue Squad.
