Richmond, VA : One person killed and three others injured in a single-vehicle crash on state Route 218 in King George County early Sunday, June 12, 2016

One person was killed and three others were injured early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in King George County.

The crash occurred at 2:04 a.m. on state Route 218 (Caledon Road), a mile east of Vertical Ridge Road, according to Virginia State Police.

A 2001 Toyota Tacoma was traveling west on Route 218 when it ran off the road to the left, overcorrected right and overturned about four times before coming to rest. All four occupants in the vehicle were ejected, according to police.

The driver and the three passengers were transported to Mary Washington Hospital with serious injuries.
One of the back-seat passengers, Katelyn A. Kipp, 26, of Gainesville, died of injuries suffered in the crash. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.

Speed and alcohol are being considered factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. Charges are pending in the crash, police said.
