Cape Coral, FL : Fatal crash closes Burnt Store Road in Cape Coral on Wednesday, 15th April, 2020

A couple from Punta Gorda died in a two-vehicle crash along Burnt Store Road Wednesday morning.

A Cape Coral police report said Joseph E. Voll, 82, and his wife, Susan Ellen Voll, 78, were killed when their 2018 Mazda CX5 collided with the rear of a dump truck on Burnt Store shortly before 8:45 a.m.

The dump truck was driving south on Burnt Store by Christopher A. Abdill, 37, of Fort Myers and veered left, crossing the centerline, to avoid a rear-end collision with another dump truck.

The truck then drove off the west edge of the roadway and the left side of its front bumper collided with the front left portion of Voll's car.

Abdill was not injured in the crash.
