Fairfield, CT : Big-rig crash slows I-80 traffic in Fairfield on Monday, 2nd December, 2019

FAIRFIELD — A rollover crash midday Monday involving a big-rig on the freeway in Fairfield blocked one lane of traffic and slowed traffic to a crawl.

The two-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 11:15 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 at the Travis Boulevard on-ramp onto the freeway, the California Highway Patrol reports. Two lanes were initially blocked, which minutes later triggered a regional traffic alert.Crews from the Office of Emergency Services and the state Department of Transportation were called to the scene due to a fuel leak, the CHP reports. Officials from the Department of Fish and Game were also called to the scene.
