Mitchell, S.D : 19-year-old injured in crash near Mitchell on Saturday morning, March 25, 2017
A 19-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday morning after a one-vehicle crash east of Mitchell.
The man was seriously injured after losing control of a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup on Interstate 90 and leaving the roadway, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
At about midnight, the man — whose name is not being released due to Marsy's Law — was traveling eastbound on I-90 when he lost control and the vehicle left the road near the bridge that crosses Riverside Road, about 3 miles east of Mitchell.
The man was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported by Mitchell Ambulance to the hospital in Mitchell, DPS said.
There were no passengers in the vehicle, and possible charges are pending, DPS said.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. The Hanson County Sheriff's Office also responded.
