Highgate, VT : Highgate man killed in a hit and run crash on Route 78 in Highgate on Sunday, December 6, 2015

Police say a Highgate man was killed in a hit and run accident Sunday.

It happened on Route 78 in Highgate just before 9:30 a.m. Police say 54-year-old David Miller was walking east on the west side shoulder of the road when he was apparently struck by a vehicle. Based on evidence collected at the scene, police say they are now looking for a 2003 or later Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban or a GMC Sierra, Yukon, or Denali. They say the front passenger side was damaged, including the headlight, rear view mirror, and radio antenna.

Police say Miller was wearing blue jeans, a red hooded sweatshirt and a light colored denim jacket when he was hit.
