Las Vegas, NV : 6 injured after a sport utility vehicle crashed into a bus stop on Saturday, January 10, 2015
The driver of a silver Nissan SUV injured a family upon crashing into a bus stop shelter at North Rainbow Boulevard just north of West Lake Mead, said Metro Police.
The crash occurred on Saturday about 5:45 p.m. Witnesses said the SUV veered off the road, said Sgt. Richard Strader.
A mother of two children is in serious condition, and her children have minor to moderate injuries, said Strader. The grandmother was not injured but went with the family to the hospital, he said.
A female passenger in the car was also injured, he said.
The male driver is in custody for driving under the influence as well as unrelated traffic warrants, he said.
Meanwhile, the traffic section is conducting their investigation and the road in front of the Best of the West shopping center will be closed for two more hours, he said.
