Zanesville , OH : Man killed, woman injured when semitrailer hits their motorcycle on Saturday night June 27 ,2015
The State Highway Patrol says a man was killed and a woman was injured when the motorcycle they were riding was rear-ended by a semitrailer in central Ohio and the man was hit by a car.
The patrol's Zanesville post reports that 33-year-old Cory Cox, of Newark, died at the scene on State Route 16 in Muskingum County Saturday night. The patrol says Cox's 32-year-old wife, Rachel, was hospitalized with critical, but non-life threatening injuries.
The patrol says the motorcycle and semitrailer were eastbound about 7 p.m. Saturday when the truck apparently failed to maintain an assured clear distance and struck the motorcycle.
Troopers say a westbound car tried to stop but struck Cory Cox before driving into a ditch.
No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
