COLLIER COUNTY, FL : A Fort Lauderdale woman died in an I-75 cras on May, Wednesday, 17th 2017

A Fort Lauderdale woman died Wednesday evening in an I-75 crash in Collier County.

Troopers haven't released the woman's identity but say she was southbound near the Collier Boulevard exit when a faster-moving vehicle rear-ended her, causing her to lose control of her SUV.

The vehicle overturned in the grass median before landing upright.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing her seat belt. Her two passengers were seriously injured and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the car that struck them was identified as Marcus Coleman, 22, of Fort Lauderdale.

He and his two passengers had minor injuries.

Troopers say the crash is still under investigation, so charges are pending.
