Madison resident killed in Newark motorcycle accident in Newark New Jersey

A Madison resident died Saturday in a motorcycle accident, police said.Dwayne Vanderveer, 33 of Madison was traveling north on Grove Street on his Suzuki motorcycle when he collided head on with a 2001 Honda traveling south near the intersection with Grain Street at 3:15 p.m., according to a prepared statement from acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio.Vanderveer was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, the statement said.The driver of the Honda, a resident of Cape May, was treated at University Hospital, the statement said.An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and the Newark police, the statement said.
