Texarkana,AR : Victims in fatal crash identified on March, Friday 23rd 2018
The victims of a fatal accident Friday in Mount Pleasant, Texas, have been identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The driver of a 2018 International truck-tractor semitrailer, one of five vehicles involved in Friday's crash on Interstate 30 at mile marker 162, has been identified as Wanda Gebhart, 64, of Pikeville, Tenn.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 2011 Toyota Sienna, occupied by a family of five, was the first vehicle to be struck in the crash. The driver of the Toyota, Jeffery Brokish, 42, of Savoy, Ill., was taken by air ambulance to a trauma center in Tyler. Jessica Brokish, 41, two sons, ages 9 and 6, and a 2-year-old daughter were pronounced dead on scene.
The third vehicle struck, a 2016 Freightliner, was driven by Carlos Vela Martinez, 42. He and a passenger, Juan Martinez, 20, both from San Jose Santillio, Mexico, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Titus Regional Medical Center.
The fourth vehicle struck was a 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Ravshan Sayfetdin Ibragim, 43, from Dayton, Ohio. He was also taken to Titus Regional with minor injuries.
The fifth vehicle struck was a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Abdul Rahman Al-Shaibani, 53, from Stanwood, Wash. He was taken to Titus Regional with minor injuries.
The investigation by DPS is ongoing.
