Silver Bell, AZ : Two People were injured after Mid-sized sedan was torn in half and an SUV rolled several times and crashed at the intersection of Ina on Thursday , December 11th 2014
A midsized sedan was torn in half and an SUV rolled several times when they crashed shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Ina and Silverbell, injuring two people.
A 22-year-old woman was trapped inside the overturned SUV. Crews used extrication equipment known as the “Jaws-of-life” to free her from the interior of the truck. She suffered minor injuries. She was evaluated on the scene by Northwest Fire paramedics and did not require transport to a hospital. Paramedics credit her use of a seatbelt with the lack of critical injuries, a Northwest Fire spokesman said in a news release.
An 88-year-old man who was driving the sedan sustained serious injuries that are considered non-life threatening, the news release said. He was taken by ambulance to the trauma center at University of Arizona Medical Center.
Both drivers were the only occupants of the cars involved.
