Eau Claire,WI : 2 Minnesota men die in St. Croix County crash on January, Saturday 20th 2018

Two Minneapolis men died in a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Highway E, just west of Highway D,, in the town of Baldwin in St. Croix County.

A pickup truck was found on its roof, with severe damage, in the north ditch.

According to the St. Croix County sheriff’s office:

All three occupants required extrication.

The driver, Eduardo F. Saldivar, 32, and front-seat passenger, Milton E.V. Favela, 24, were pronounced dead at the scene by the county medical examiner.

A rear-seat passenger, Luis N. De La Cruz, 38, a Twin Cities resident, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with serious injuries.

None of the occupants appeared to be wearing seat belts. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

These are the first two traffic fatalities for 2018 in St. Croix County.
