Huntington County, IN : Passing vehicle leads to fiery head-on collision on Monday, 9th December, 2019

Two teenagers were involved in a head-on collision in Huntington County on Monday afternoon where one driver was rescued from a burning vehicle.

At approximately 4:41 p.m. on Monday, Luv Kumar Chohan, 17, of Marion was traveling eastbound on State Road 218 when he attempted to pass a slower moving vehicle.

Chohan crashed head-on into the oncoming vehicle of Katelyn Spangler, 19, of Warren in the westbound lane, according to a news release from the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department.

Spangler’s vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane and immediately caught fire. The driver of the vehicle who was passed by Chohan immediately attempted to rescue Spangler and was able to extract her with the help of first responders.
