CHETOPA, KS : 6 people involved in Chetopa car accident on Wednesday, 5th January 2021

Six people received suspected minor injuries a week ago in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 166 west of Chetopa.

The accident happened at 4:29 p.m. Dec. 28 on U.S. 166 at Trego Road, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. A 2006 Fort Expedition driven by Jennifer L. Bliss, 35, Lebanon, Indiana, and a 2005 Ford F-350 driven by David L. Bates, 69, Bentonville, Arkansas, were both westbound on the highway. Bates was slowing to make a right turn onto Trego Road when Bliss failed to yield and rear-ended the pickup.
