Newark, DE : Six people injured in Newark-area U-Haul crash on Saturday, May 14, 2016
Newark police are investigating a crash that involved a U-Haul truck and injured six people, leaving one victim in serious condition, paramedics said.
All six victims involved in the crash were treated at the scene before being taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton for further evaluation, said Abigail Haas, with New Castle County Paramedics, in a release. Of the six injured, one remains in serious condition while the other five injured are considered stable, according to Haas. Paramedics responded to Casho Mill Road, in the area of Munro Road in Newark, Saturday around 12:16 p.m. after the U-Haul truck, which was carrying all six people, struck a railroad bridge, Haas said.
A 24-year-old female, who was in serious condition, was ejected from the rear of the vehicle and received medical attention for a head injury before being transported to the hospital by state police helicopter, Haas said.
