Chico, CA : Corning man killed in Plumas Forest jeep accident on Thursday, 13th October 2016
A Corning man was killed and his passenger suffered minor injuries in a back road accident Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said about 7:40 p.m. Thursday a Jeep being driven in a remote part of the Plumas National Forest ran off the road and hit a rock, causing the driver to lose control. The Jeep rolled over after hitting a tree.
The driver, identified only as a 50-year-old Corning man pending notification of next-of-kin, was killed. His passenger was identified as a 48-year-old Corning man.
The accident happened on forest road 26N04, just south of road 26N75, which is about six miles southwest of the southern tip of Honey Lake.
