EAST PEORIA, IL : 20-year-old Pekin woman killed in East Peoria crash on Tuesday, 10th December, 2019

A 20-year-old Pekin woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when she was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Springfield Road.

According to the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 2:34 p.m. on Springfield Road, about a quarter-mile north of the intersection with Broadway Road. Deputies arrived on the scene and found two vehicles with heavy front-end damage.

The Pekin woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the second vehicle, a 45-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, were taken to a Peoria hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their conditions weren’t known late Tuesday.

The accident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office. The identities of the Pekin woman was being withheld pending notification of the family and will be released by the Tazewell County Coroner’s office.
