Greeley, CO : A woman was injured after a two-vehicle crash at 35th Avenue at 20th Street On Tuesday, September 20th, 2016

A woman was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Greeley.

The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. when the driver of a white Ram 250 work truck ran a red light on 35th Avenue at 20th Street. The truck collided broadside with a

white Toyota 4-Runner, according to a news release from the Greeley police.

When officers arrived on the scene of the crash, they found that a woman, who was a passenger in the 4-Runner, could not exit her door because it had been damaged to

the point that it wouldn’t open. Greeley Fire Department firefighters used their equipment to get the door open and extricate the woman, who had suffered non-life-

threatening injuries to her arm and head. An ambulance took her to North Colorado Medical Center.

Both vehicles were inoperable and had to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the 4-Runner, Jose Avalos, 40, suffered only bumps and bruises. The driver of the Ram, Timothy Doyle, 47, was cited for a red light violation, according to the release.

Police did not release the name of the injured woman.
