Parsons, KS : Two die in head-on accident on U.S. 400 west of Parsons on Friday, 31st May 2019

A pickup and a semi-tractor trailer carrying boats collided Friday afternoon on U.S. 400 west of Parsons.
The accident, about a quarter of a mile west of Lyon Road on U.S. 400, was reported about 4:30 p.m. and the Labette County Sheriff’s Department, the Parsons Police Department, the Labette County Ambulance Service and firefighters from Parsons and Osage Township fire departments responded.
The pickup and semi-tractor and its cargo, Cobalt boats, caught fire and burned, sending a plume of smoke high into the air.
The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that two people died in the crash.
