Ocala, FL : Three children injured in crash on I-75 on Monday morning, June 20, 2016
Three children were injured when a sport utility vehicle went off Interstate 75, struck a guardrail and flipped over Monday morning.
One passenger, 11-year-old Dan Miller, was critically injured when he was thrown from the 2002 Mercury SUV, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.
Clay Miller, 14, and Yedidia Sanchez, 15, were seriously injured. The driver, 33-year-old Ana Miller, was not injured, according to the FHP.
All four are from Winter Haven.
Troopers said the SUV was southbound on Interstate 75 approaching Mile Marker 372 around 9:47 a.m. when it left the road and hit the guardrail. It overturned, end over end, and can to rest on its roof in the northbound median.
The 14-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, trooper said. It was not clear whether the other occupants were restrained.
The driver faces a charge of careless driving, according to the FHP.
