College Station, TX : Bicyclist hit by car near A&M campus on Thursday, Aug 27, 2015
A woman received minor injuries late Thursday night when her bicycle was hit by a car near Texas A&M's campus, College Station police said.
The 18-year-old from Dilley, Texas, was riding her bike on Wellborn Road around 11:40 p.m. and collided with a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by a 22-year-old Katy woman who was driving through a green light, authorities said.
The woman, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to College Station Medical Center for minor injuries. College Station Police Assistant Chief Chuck Fleeger said the woman's injuries were probably not serious because the Corolla was not driving at a high rate of speed.
"Any time you have a car and a bicycle, it's not a good combination," he said.
