Las Vegas ,NV : Coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in crash with pickup truck On Saturday morning ,June 27th 2015

A motorcyclist killed in a crash with a pickup truck Saturday morning on the 215 Beltway has been identified as Neil Jared Sonerholm, 40, of North Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Sonerholm was riding east between Aliante Parkway and North 5th Street when a westbound Toyota pickup crossed the center median about 4:15 a.m., according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

Another eastbound motorcyclist was able to avoid the truck, but the truck hit Sonerholm, throwing him off the motorcycle, Trooper Loy Hixson said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Hixson said.

The pickup and motorcycle caught fire, and the man and woman in the pickup were taken to University Medical Center with injuries that did not appear life threatening, he said.
