Lewistown, IL : Nine people injured in a two-vehicle crash in Fulton County on Monday, June 6, 2016

On Monday at approximately 4:42 p.m., officials responded to a two-vehicle crash in Fulton County, Illinois.

Erica L. Lawrence was driving westbound on East Washington Street in Lewistown, Illinois.

Lawrence stopped at the intersection stop sign at East Washington and North Main.

As she proceeded through the intersection, her vehicle was struck by another vehicle.

Dana M. Hitchcock, driver of the second vehicle, left the roadway and struck a concrete barrier in the front lawn of the Fulton County Courthouse.

Lawrence's vehicle overturned and landed on its roof, just north of the Courthouse.

Lawrence was trapped inside her vehicle and was later air lifted to OSF Hospital in Peoria with minor injuries.

The other passengers in Lawrence's vehicle, 3 adults and 4 children, were transported to Graham Hospital in Canton, Illinois where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Hitchcock was transported to Graham Hospital with minor injuries and was later released.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

OSF Hospital staff stated there was no indication of alcohol use by either driver.

Lawrence was charged with two citations: Failure to Yield at a Stop Intersection and Child Restraint, as no seat belts or restraint were used for the 1-year-old, 2-year-old, or 4-year-old and only 1 child restraint seat was located in the vehicle.

Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Lewiston Police Department, Lewistown Fire Department, and Fulton County EMS all assisted on scene.
