Ocala, FL : Driver crashes car into wall at Golden Corral on Sunday, January, 14th 2018

A driver drove a Kia Forte into a wall at the Golden Corral restaurant on State Road 200 Sunday morning causing minor injuries to at least one patron, according to the Ocala Police Department.

During the incident at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, a knee-high wall on the south side of the restaurant facing SR 200 was damaged, disturbing tables inside, and a six-foot wide by five-foot tall window was smashed.

According to the OPD report, Katherine Burger, whose birth year was provided as 1958, indicated her foot may have become stuck, causing her to hit the wrong pedal and causing the vehicle to accelerate.

One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

A building official checked the site and the damage did not cause the restaurant to close, according to the OPD.
