MANATEE COUNTY, FL : Palmetto man dies after crash, FHP reports on April, Thursday 6th 2017

A man who was critically injured in a single-car crash last week has died, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to an FHP news release, John Richard Niebor, 34, of Palmetto was driving a BMW 3 north on Desoto Memorial Highway/75th Street Northwest at about 10:30 p.m. As he approached the intersection with 79th Street, the BMW went off the road on the east shoulder and hit a tree.

Niebor, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Blake Medical Center. He died Tuesday, FHP reports.

The crash remains under investigation.
