Nashville,TN : Two killed in I-40 rollover crash in Roane County on December, Wednesday 27th 2017

Two people were killed when they were thrown from their car in a violent rollover crash along Interstate 40 in Roane County on Wednesday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 9 p.m. on I-40 East near mile marker 350, where a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am veered off the roadway, overcorrected, went airborne and rolled multiple times, a THP incident report states.

The driver, Theodore A. Kalnasy Jr. 32, and passenger, Tara A. Kalnasy, 23, both of Kingston, were ejected despite wearing seat belts, according to the report.

The car came to rest on its top at the interstate on-ramp.

It was unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. Standard blood tests were requested for both occupants.
