MILAM, TX : La Porte Police Chief dies in Sabine County accident on Sunday, 21st January 2024

The chief of police in an East Texas town was killed on Sunday in a tree-cutting accident.

Sabine County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Telephone Road about an accidental death on Sunday.

Upon arrival, the body of Douglas Ditrich, the Chief of Police of the La Porte Police Department, was discovered by deputies.
