Cedar Key, FL : 17-year-old in critical condition in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 19 on Monday, June 13, 2016

A 17-year-old is in critical condition following a one-vehicle accident Monday shortly after 1 p.m. on U.S. Highway 19 at Northwest 135th Lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Trevor D. Hill, 17, was transported to Shands Hospital in Gainesville after he lost control of his 2003 Ford Escape while southbound on U.S. 19 during heavy rain, overcorrected and the SUV started to rotate.

The Escape left the road, and the left side struck a street sign before overturning and ending up on the left side.
