Phoenix ,AZ : Woman killed after struck by hit-and-run vehicle along roadway in north Phoenix on Thursday early morning ,June 4th 2015

Authorities say a man is in custody in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident in north Phoenix.

Phoenix police say 23-year-old Jeofrey Kavu is being held on suspicion of manslaughter, endangerment and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

It's unclear if he has a lawyer yet.

Investigators say impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash that occurred about 2 a.m. Thursday.

Police say a woman and a man were pushing a shopping cart in a bike lane along Norterra Parkway when she was struck by a car.

The name of the 33-year-old woman hasn't been released.

Police say the car's driver apparently lost control while going around a curve.
