A 76-year-old Texas City man has been charged in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist whose body was dragged for a city block.

Texas City police Capt. Brian Goetschius tells the Beaumont Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1A7MdX8 ) that the man arrested after the Friday evening hit-and-run has been charged with failure to report an accident and render assistance.

Investigators are examining a surveillance video that shows the driver's pickup slamming into the 49-year-old man riding a bicycle at an intersection.

Goetschius says the driver faced a stop sign, but the bicyclist did not. Investigators are trying to determine if the driver stopped at the intersection.
