Authorities say one woman was killed and two others seriously injured after a crash in Custer County.
A Chevrolet Uplander was westbound on South Dakota Highway 40, four miles east of Hermosa, when the vehicle lost control and rolled into the south ditch, according to a release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
A 47-year-old woman, a 34-year-old man and a small puppy were ejected from the vehicle, while the 44-year-old male driver remained in the car.
All three were taken to a local hospital, where the female passenger died Sunday morning. The dog was taken to a local veterinarian.
The two other people in the car suffered life-threatening injuries, and seatbelt use is under investigation.
Charges are also pending against the driver of the car, the release said.
