Worcester, MA : Charlton man dead, wife badly injured in double fatal crash on Cape Cod Saturday night, October 1, 2016

A Charlton man was one of two people killed in a head-on crash on Cape Cod Saturday night, police said.

Thomas Ardan, 56, of Stoneybrook Road, Charlton, a passenger in a 2012 Audi driven by his wife, Mary Ardan, was killed in the accident. Mrs. Ardan, 60, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital and later transferred to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Caroline A. Liberty, 22, of Arlington Street, West Yarmouth, the driver of a 2004 GMC Sierra, was also killed in the accident, police said.

Ms. Liberty's vehicle was westbound on Buck Island Road at the time of the accident. The Ardans were heading east. The 10:40 p.m. accident occurred near the entrance to Halcyon Condominium complex.
