A Naval Air Station Oceana civilian police officer is in the hospital after being struck by a car in
Virginia Beach.
Local news outlets report that the officer was struck Sunday afternoon at the Naval Exchange parking lot.
Naval Air Station Oceana public affairs officer Jennifer Colaizzi says the car that struck the
officer left the scene. She says the naval air station has partnered with Virginia Beach police to
catch the suspect or suspects.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable
condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
