A Bamberg city councilwoman was killed in a crash involving a car and tractor-trailer in Orangeburg County on Wednesday afternoon.
The Orangeburg County Coroner identified 47-year-old Angela Evans of Bamberg as the driver killed in the crash that happened at about 2 p.m. on U.S. 301 near Santee.
Troopers say Evans tried to make a left turn and collided with a tractor trailer. The other driver was not hurt.
According to The Orangeburg Times and Democrat, Evans was elected in a November special election.
