Adair, IA : Bellevue man killed and Omaha man injured in I-80 crash on April, sunday 30th 2017

A Bellevue man was killed and an Omaha passenger in his car was injured in a late-night traffic accident on Interstate 80 near the Adair, Iowa exit.

Authorities say Both Thoch, 45, died at the scene of the crash. His passenger, Kek Yok, 42, of Omaha, was injured and transported to an Atlantic hospital for treatment.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Thoch's Nissan Sentra was traveling west on the interstate when a mechanical issue caused it to break down in the right travel lane around 11:30 p.m.

A westbound semi, driven by Ken Mmanga, 44, of Niles, Michigan, struck the Nissan. Mmanga said he didn't see the car. Both vehicles wound up in a ditch on the north side of the interstate.

Mmanga was not injured.
